From May 9 to 11, 2008, near the village of Polyany, Zhovkva District, Lviv Region, the camp of the Lviv center of Plast [Ukrainian scouts], “Spring Holiday,” will be held. With this method already for the 18th year in a row Lviv Plast members have opened the camp season and honored their patron, Saint George.

The basic task for each of the teams will be to establish a camp, provide it with all necessities, and to design it brightly and originally. In addition to this, during this activity they will be able to compete among themselves in various spheres of practical “Plast-hood.” The participants of “Spring Holiday” will take part in competitions in medical first aid and cooking and will show their abilities in sporting competitions: football, Frisbee, and contests regarding orientation to locality will overcome the bar of obstacles.

Artistic and intellectual competitions and a radio advertising competition will be conducted, too. Every day will end with a traditional Plast camp fire (“vatra”). The organizers of “Spring Holiday” plan to gather more than 700 Plast members. On the last day of the camp after the results of grades, the best squad of the Lviv center will be announced.

She will inform about the date and place of departure of the bus which will drive participants (almost) to the place of conducting “Spring Holiday.”
